Terroir

Blend of Savagnin from different terroirs, but predominantly from the En Sauvagny plot.

Soil of grey Lias marl.

Slope largely south-west facing.

 

Vinification and Ageing

Manual and mechanical harvest.

The Savagnin (part of the Traminer family of grapes, known as Naturé in the local dialect) is pneumatically pressed before fermentation in a temperature-controlled vat.

Nine months' maturation in vats before bottling.

Bouquet

Pale yellow in colour with golden glints.

Fresh, aromatic nose with notes of white flowers, acacia, exotic fruits and fresh grapes.

 


Palate

Supple and aromatic on the palate with hints of lychee, apricot and fresh grape and a fresh, zesty finish.

 

Ageing Potential

From two to five years.

 

Wine and Food Pairing

Accompanies aperitifs, seafood platters, shellfish, fish, smoked salmon, scallops, cured meats, poultry dishes and foie gras.
Best served between 10 and 13°C.
